Fall In Love With Figs!

Figs Are One of the Worlds Healthiest Foods!

Although considered a fruit, the fig is actually a flower that is inverted into itself. The seeds are drupes, or the real fruit.

Figs are the only fruit to fully ripen and semi-dry on the tree.

For many years the fig has been used as a coffee substitute. The fruit contains a proteolytic enzyme that is considered as an aid to digestion and is used by the pharmaceutical industry.

Now don’t just think that figs are only for snacking on! Figs have risen in popularity and are now being incorporated into all 3 meals; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There are so many benefits of having figs in your diet, including

Reducing cholesterol

Preventing cancer

Help to cure diabetes

Preventing high blood pressure and heart attacks

I was curious as to how these little purple fruits of power could be infused in our meals and found so many, yummy ideas! One of my favorites is a popular trend going on right now…
